Notice of Publication - Case PC/ZBA 22-003

Notice is given to all interested persons that the Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Maywood will hold a Public Hearing beginning at 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter as the business of the Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals permits, on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, in the 2nd Floor Village Council Chambers, 125 South 5th Avenue, Maywood, IL 60153, to consider a request from Tori Garron (on behalf of Yours Gaming), who is seeking to obtain a special use permit required for the an indoor recreation facility she is seeking to locate at 1115 Madison Street, in the C-2 Pedestrian-Oriented Commercial Zoning District in the Village of Maywood. The proposed facility will provide an indoor gaming space for children. Indoor recreation facilities are allowed by special use under Table 8-1 (Commercial Districts Permitted and Special Uses) of the Maywood Zoning Code.

The property for which the special use permit is sought is legally described as follows:

PARCEL 1: LOTS 819, 820, 821, 822, 823, 824 AND 825 IN MADISON STREET ADDITION, A SUBDIVISION OF PART OF SECTION 10 TOWNSHIP 39 NORTH, RANGE 12, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDAN, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS.


A special use for this same facility was previously granted for 1007 S. 17th Avenue. The business is proposed to be relocated to 1115 Madison Street. During the Public Hearing, the Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals will hear testimony from and consider any evidence presented by persons interested to speak on this matter. Public comments, testimony and objections are welcome on the proposal and zoning relief being requested when received by email or in writing by the Community Development Department prior to 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Emailed comments may be sent to the Community Development Department - Michele Kitch at mkitch@maywood-il.org. Written comments may be submitted to the attention of the Village Planner at 40 Madison Street, Maywood, Illinois 60153.

The Public Hearing may be continued from time to time without further notice, except as otherwise required under the Illinois Open Meetings Act. The proposal and zoning relief sought may be added to, revised, altered, or eliminated as a result of the Public Hearing and prior to final action by the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Maywood.
