The mission of the Maywood Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the village by working cooperatively with the citizens and within the framework of the United States Constitution, to enforce the laws, preserve the peace, reduce fear and provide for a safe environment.
The Maywood Police Department, being empowered by the community, as part of the community, is committed to protect the lives, property and right of the people. To fulfill our missions, we will strive to attain the highest degree of ethical behavior and professional conduct at all times. We will maintain and enforce the law impartially. We will provide quality police services in partnership with other members of the community. We will be responsive to community concerns; we will address emerging crime trends and patterns and aggressively attempt to eliminate chronic crime conditions within the community.
