Four Maywood Police Officers were recognized for their valor and professionalism during the last Regular Board Meeting of the Village of Maywood Trustees, held Tuesday evening, December 20, 2011. The officers: Sgt. Jeremy Pezdek, Officer Patrick Grandberry, Officer Anthony Saraceno and Officer Dantist Zimmermann were recognized with an award of valor and merit by Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart. The award was earned earlier in the year when the officers responded to a domestic incident involving a Maywood husband and wife. The incident involved firearms and posed an immediate danger to the officers, the wife and the community at-large. The officers took appropriate action that ended the threat to all present.
At the Trustee Board Meeting, Maywood Police Chief Tim Curry read a commendation recalling the officers valor before inviting them to appear before the Board to receive honorary plaques. Below are highlights from the presentation.
