The last Regular Board Meeting of the Village of Maywood Trustees, held Tuesday evening, December 20, 2011, marked a special occasion for four special men. The men, named George Randel, James Keating, Kyle Rice and Wesley DeVries were all newly hired police officers who began their service as Maywood's finest during the first and second weeks of December.
Each of the officers was sworn in by Maywood's Clerk, Gary Woll, who served for many years as a Maywood Trustee prior to becoming Clerk. The Board of Trustees, the Village Manager, Bill Barlow and Mayor Henderson Yarbrough, Sr. looked on with pride as the young men were swore in beginning with Officer Kyle Rice. After the swearing in ceremonies, the officers were congratulated by Police Chief Tim Curry. The officers then joined family members for photos. Pictured below are highlights of the ceremony.
