 Enterprise Zone Benefits and Map

The State of Illinois has designated the entire Village as an Enterprise Zone.  The Village of  Maywood Enterprise Zone Program offers numerous state incentives to encourage companies to locate to or expand in the Village of Maywood.

An enterprise zone is a specific area designated by the State of Illinois in cooperation with a local government to receive tax incentives and other benefits to stimulate economic activity.  Those benefits are:

Investment Tax Credit

The State of Illinois allows a (one-half percent) .5% credit against state income taxes for investments in qualified property used in an enterprise zone.

Jobs Tax Credit

Employers in an Enterprise Zone may obtain a $500 tax credit on their Illinois income taxes for hiring dislocated or economically disadvantaged individuals.

Sales Tax Exemptions

The State of Illinois offers businesses located in Maywood the following sales tax exemptions:

Enterprise Zone Act Sales Tax Exemption A 7.75% combined Village of Maywood and Illinois sales tax exemption on building materials purchased from a Maywood business for use in real estate remodeling, rehabilitation or new construction.
