About Audrey Jaycox
Trustee
Jaycox is a life-long resident of Maywood (although she
spent 16 years in Country Club Hills, in Illinois). She is
a graduate of Washington Elementary School and Proviso East
High School, both of which are located in Maywood. She
attended Triton College and Malcolm X College (formerly
known as Crane Junior College).
Trustee
Jaycox is retired after having worked for 30 years with
ComEd. She is also a retired professional trainer, but
remains
qualified as a Community Intervention Specialist.
Her
community involvements are distinguished by membership in
numerous organizations, including: Maywood Alliance for
Better Government, NOMCO, Maywood Chamber of Commerce
(Executive Board Member, Membership Chairperson, and Banquet
Committee Chairperson), Maywood Youth Mentoring Advisory
Council, Proviso Township Democratic Organization (Fund
Raising Committee Chairperson), and Women In Management.
As a
Village of Maywood Trustee, Trustee Jaycox is chairperson of
the Finance Committee. She ran for Village Trustee to help
bring a sense of stability and safety to the community; and
to help ensure that Maywood has good government, a strong
police force, constructive activities for families, and a
good plan for moving forward. She believes Maywood has the
potential to be one of the better communities to live, work
and play in; however, to reach this potential, citizens,
community leaders, and elected officials must get involved
and work together for the good of the Village. Having
served as Trustee for several years now, Trustee Jaycox
believes Maywood is headed in a new and more positive
direction based on strong family and community values.
Being part
of the Maywood community, knowing what it used to be and
what it has the potential to become, and having the
opportunity to enrich the lives of the citizens are among
her motivators that guide her decisions as Trustee.
“Retirement allows me the opportunity to continue to be
active, to participate and serve in my community; and I will
continue to do so, as long as the citizens want me to,” says
Trustee Jaycox. |
