MAYWOOD VILLAGE
BOARD APPROVES
HIRING OF A NEW
VILLAGE MANAGER
William
Barlow Selected
Unanimously
as
Maywood’s Top
Administrator

Village
Manager
(Effective 9/26) |

William Barlow,
a 32-year
veteran of
municipal
government, was
chosen as the
new village
manager by the
Maywood Board of
Trustees at a
special board
meeting last
night.
Maywood’s
village manager
position has
been vacant
since January
when Jason Ervin
was appointed
Alderman of the
28th
Ward in Chicago
after serving as
Maywood’s top
administrator
for five years.
Joseph Ponsetto
has been serving
as Maywood’s
interim village
manager.
Barlow, whose
resume includes
village manager
of Winfield,
city manager of
Xenia, Ohio, and
city manager of
Rolling Meadows,
presently is the
interim village
manager for
Pingree Grove,
Il. Barlow,
whose official
start date will
be September 26,
will be paid
$105,000
annually.

village a wealth
of experience
and a diverse
background from
serving with
distinction in
municipal
government,”
stated Maywood
Mayor Henderson
Yarbrough Sr.
The mayor added
that Barlow
demonstrated “an
ability to
relate well to
employees, an
extensive
knowledge of
city management,
and a proactive
and
collaborative
style that will
enable Maywood
to continue to
provide its
residence
excellent
service.”
Barlow, who
earned a Master
of Public
Administration
from the
University of
Kansas, looks
forward to
serving as
Maywood’s
village
manager. “I was
drawn to this
position by both
the potential
and the
challenges of
Maywood,” he
exclaimed, “and
I look forward
to engaging with
the residents
and working on
issues including
finances,
property
maintenance and
redevelopment.”
