MAYWOOD
PARKING TICKET
REVENUES
ESCALATE 55%
IN LAST FISCAL
YEAR
Collections from
parking tickets in
Maywood increased
55% for the last
fiscal year,
reported Finance
Director Lanya
Satchell. Revenues
from sale of vehicle
stickers went up 9%
in the same
reporting period.
Parking enforcement
revenue increased to
approximately
$474,000 from
$305,000 for the
previous twelve
months. Sale of
vehicle stickers
brought in $316,000
compared to
$290,500.
“The village is
pleased that
revenues have
increased in the
last year,” stated
Village Manager
Jason Ervin.
“During the severe
financial downturn,
which has severely
impacted other
village revenue
sources, we have
taken steps to
ensure that
available revenue
streams are
maximized,” he
added.
Director Satchell
attributed the rise
in parking ticket
revenues to “the
finance department’s
more direct
involvement in
parking enforcement,
as well as more
aggressive
booting.” She
lauded the
cooperation between
the police
department and the
finance department
in the parking
collection process.
Revenue from water
collections remained
the same as last
year--$3,894.000.
Satchell noted that
“complaints about
water billing have
been dramatically
reduced.”
