Maywood CeaseFire invites residents of Maywood, Bellwood and Broadview to participate in CeaseFire Week starting on Saturday June 5 and ending the following Saturday.  The June 12 extravaganza features the second annual Prairie Path Barbeque with free food, fun activities and entertainment.
 
Also featured on June 12 will be a three-on-three basketball tournament at Winfield Scott Park, 17th and Maywood Drive.  Team sign up starts at 10 a.m. with the tourney tip-off set for noon.    Trophies and T-Shirts will be awarded to the winning teams. 
 
Other highlights during Maywood CeaseFire week include:

• “Know Your Heritage” program on Monday night June 7 starting at 6 PM at the West Town Cultural Museum, 5th Avenue and St. Charles.

• Community Safe Haven program on Thursday night, June 10 from 4 PM to 9 PM featuring basketball at Winfield Scott Park and programs and activities at the CeaseFire headquarters, 1100 S. 11th Avenue
