MAYWOOD PARTNERS
WITH P.O.E.T.
FOR
SUMMER YOUTH
EMPLOYMENT
The Village of
Maywood will be
partnering with Cook
County President’s
Office of Employment
and Training (P.O.E.T.)
this summer to
provide summer
employment for
Maywood youth.
Funding for this
program is provided
by American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act
of 2009. To
qualify, an
individual must be
Workforce Investment
Act (WIA)-eligible
and between 14-24
years of ago.
The application
deadline is May 18.
The application and
instruction sheet
are available online
via the Village of
Maywood website:
www.maywood-il.org.
One can also apply
by calling the
Summer Jobs Hotline
at (708) 633-2771.
Youth hired through
the Stroger Summer
Youth Program will
receive paid work
experience as well
as career
assessments and a
work readiness
certification. As a
collaborative
partner with Cook
County, the Village
of Maywood will
provide various
village work sites
for Maywood youth.
Youth who do not
qualify under the
WIA Income
Guidelines are
encouraged to fill
out the Village of
Maywood Summer Work
Application and
return it to Village
Hall by May 23.
